Each of these post earrings is a little tribal sun emitting wavy spike-like rays in an alternating long-short pattern. At the center of each is an inlaid ring of iridescent lab opal, surrounding the cut-out in the middle.
Synthetic opals are man-made opals that have the same chemical composition, internal structure, physical properties, and appearance as natural opals. Many synthetic opals look so much like natural opal that trained gemologists can have difficulty separating them from natural opal.
